Eurasian Wigeons are regular rare migrants to the eastern United States and the males are readily identifiable in spring not only by plumage but also by voice. I first located this bird at Prime Hook NWR, Delaware, by its distinctive emphatic single-syllable call (with Northern Shoveler, Canada Goose, Green-winged Teal, Feb, DE).
Here the Eurasian Wigeon can be heard above the din of the many calling American Wigeon, which have lower multisyllabic calls, at 7s.
