Cormorants and Anhinga
Double-crested Cormorants are usually mute except for at breeding colonies or roosts. The calls are mostly low croaks (with Black-crowned Night-Herons, Apr, NJ).
Immature bird at roost (Feb, NC).
Roost of over 200 birds, croaks and clicking sounds (Feb, NC).
Anhinga, disturbed bird, alarm call (Feb,FL).
Anhingas calling to each other in mangroves, possibly a form of song (Feb,FL).
